I was born and grew up in Uppsala, Sweden, spent nearly 8 years of my life in Greece and came to Moscow to study in 2010. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science (Uppsala University) and a Master’s degree in International Relations (MGIMO) and speak five languages. However, the past few years I have come to believe that the path to a more peaceful world lies in the hearts of men and women and not through international political structures characterised by the perceived self interests of states.

Peace must first come from within, and by uniting our bodies, breath, hearts and minds through yoga practices we begin to heal any sense of “otherness” and separation to that which surrounds us.

I have been practising different styles of yoga since 2008, but it was when I took my first Jivamukti Yoga class in 2010 that I felt I had come “home”. Its rigorous asana sequencing and its emphasis on compassion for all being as the foundation for the yoga practice went straight into my heart and in 2012 I was fortunate enough to take the 300-hour Jivamukti Teacher Training.

I strive in my classes to create a meditative flow of awareness, breath, movement and music, so that we can feel truly alive, connected and free in the ever-present current that is our life...

I am humbly grateful to all my teachers, known as unknown, on the yoga mat and beyond. Especially to Katya and Max Kushner for creating the beautiful space of NYM Yoga. To Petros Haffenrichter who first showed me the door home. To my beautiful mentor Anya Lunegova who graciously continues to see to my education. To Sharon Gannon and David Life for creating the global satsang that is Jivamukti Yoga.

Why do I practice yoga? To be free...
